1.BACHELOR OF PHARMACY (B.PHARMA)

Abdul Kalam Technical University all undergraduate courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The Institute offers B.Pharma programmers at its R.A Institute of Pharmacy Campus.
B.Pharma: It’s a four-year degree course in pharmacy. Pharmacy is known as a branch associated with healthcare services. Job of the Pharmacists is to prepare, mix, compound or dispense drugs and medicines, ointments, powder, tablets and injections on the prescription of a medical practitioner, dentist or veterinarian It also imparts knowledge about production of pharmaceutical products, development of the methods of processes of production and quality control and R&D in the field of Pharmacy.
Pharmacists are hired within the central and state government departments- the Health Protection Branch of the Department of Health and Welfare, the Pest Control Division of Agriculture, the Department of National Defense, Provincial Research Councils, and the Provincial Departments of Agriculture or the Environment. There are also employment opportunities within the food and cosmetic industries, Pharmaceutical industries and even defence or within any other industry that requires the assurance that new products are as safe and effective as possible. In government departments, a pharmacist maintains proper records according to various Government acts governing the profession of pharmacy. As a drug inspector or government analyst he is to make sure that the drugs manufactured and sold, are of standard quality.
B.Pharma Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum Qualification Required: 10+2 or equivalent examination.
- Minimum Marks Required (Aggregate): Minimum 50% in 10+2 in science subjects.
- Age Limit: Age limit for B.Pharm. is 20 years for reserved category and 22 years for reserved category.
2.Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma)
Diploma in Pharmacy is a short-term programme for aspirants who want to foray into pharmaceutical business and pharmacy jobs. The course is ideal for students who seek short programmes in the pharmacy domain as B.Pharma and Pharma.D are long-term courses of up to 6 years. Diploma in pharmacy can also be pursued in order to understand the basics of the programme and pursue advanced courses in this field.
The programme covers basic pharmacy education including the application of chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry, concepts of biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology. The programme enables the students to learn about different chemical salts, their application and uses in medicine. The programme holds good value in the pharmaceutical industry.D.Pharma. is an entry-level course that acts as a gateway for aspirants to pursue higher studies either from India or abroad.
